Rita Ackermann
Rita Ackermann (b. 1968) is a Hungarian-American artist living and working in New York. Frequently featuring nymph-like women and hints of fairy tales, her paintings examine adolescent ennui through a personal language of lush and gestural mark-making. Her work includes paintings, drawings, T-shirts, a line of underwear, and skateboard design. Ackermann moved to New York City to study at the The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. She has been featured in numerous museum and gallery exhibitions in the United States, Japan and Europe. In 2008 she participated in the Whitney Biennial and in 2014 had a solo exhibition at Art Basel Unlimited. She is represented by Hauser & Wirth.
